I expect there are hundreds of ways, and reasons, to create a blog. My personal style is to browse through the 22,000 photos on my computer until I'm nearly cross-eyed. Eventually I latch on to a favourite image that leads me to an idea for a little story. Not a fictional story, but something that expresses an interest I'm happy to share, and gives me the satisfaction of feeling like a writer. Which I'm not, but why not give it a try? Low-risk and no cost.

Someone asked who my intended audience is. Hmm, I don't know. I guess it's my family and friends and anyone else who might stumble on the site. If a post entertains or inspires or informs that's great, or if it passes the time like flipping through a magazine I'm happy with that.

What I know for sure is that it entertains me and these days that's worth a lot.

I don't see any reason to hesitate. At whatever stage, whatever age, if we find a project that grabs our interest, sparks our enthusiasm, motivates us to get up in the morning, why not go for it?

So that's why I'm writing a blog.

Of course it's my son who does the real structural work and has coached me with great patience on the technical part of sending my patchwork of words and pictures into the universe. Gracias hijo. Merci mon fils. Te amo.

my method: Search pictures, curate, create, manipulate, compose and combine and call Luke; repeat delete, drink tea, sip wine, remember, forget, rewrite, revisit and reminisce; admire, reject, support, connect, commit, omit, a draft and a draft, it's not rubbish, click publish.
