I love these swimming girls. They were posing quietly in a park in Venice, Italy, the work of Carole Feuerman, one of the most famous hyper-realist sculptors in the world.
We came upon them unexpectedly on our walk back home after a long day of seeing art from around the world.
Their calm loveliness and realism were a welcome contrast to some intensely weird and fascinating installations we had seen during our two days at the 2017 Venice Biennale, the giant art extravaganza packed full of cutting-edge contemporary art.
There's something about outdoor art that makes you love a city. Not that Venice needs any extra help.
