Marie says she has the best view in town and she's right. A curve of the Swift Current Creek, a busy walking path, the city golf course with carts buzzing around and a huge blue sky are all at hand.

These pictures were taken during a pleasant coffee visit this morning.

Although visitors still aren't allowed inside Willow Creek Manor, or even on the deck, our mom wheels herself outside independently. She's the resident most likely to be seen there enjoying the fresh air in almost any weather.

Visits on the grass work quite well, especially if her hearing aids are in good working order and she remembers to wear them, which isn't always the case.

There were a few short hospital visits this winter, but as usual she bounced back quickly. Her focus on the positive things in her life seems natural and effortless and hasn't lessened with age. She talks about how lucky she is to be living at Willow Creek, the good care she gets, and the big east window in her room where she keeps an eye on the moon, the sunrise and the weather.

"I eat well and I sleep well" she tells us regularly and says she has no pain and no worries. How many people can say that these days?

At nearly 103 1/2 years old our mom is a role model for many.
